Go Take a Hike - Let's Go Birding
Head outside for a stroll along the banks of the St. Johns River or one of it's tributaries. While we are enjoying the outdoors, we will talk about the history, ecology, and issues facing our St. Johns River.
In June, St. Johns Riverkeeper has partnered with Duval Audubon to discover birds of the St. Johns River. Duval Audubon Society's mission is Connecting people with nature, which they achieve through education, conservation, environmental leadership and community involvement. Learn about migration, the importance of wetlands, and birds that you can see on the river all year round. Create your own Birding Field Guide beforehand and bring it with you to keep track of the birds you see. Additional activities possible on site, and all materials will be distributed per family.
